The Connection

Ever noticed once you ride your own board for a while you get a great feel on it? Allowing you to push you and your board harder, and harder in every situation. You’ve got it dialed to how your prefer to stand in corners, while cruising, sliding, riding fast, weaving through traffic  etc. Then your friend says “hey lets switch so I can try your board.” You jump on your buddy’s board and vice versa, but it just doesn’t feel right. Their board could be the top of the line but you have no connection with it, so there you stand feeling awkward and like a beginner almost falling quite often. Your friend returns with your board with a statement something like “your trucks are too loose/tight.” or “you need to upgrade to a new board!” Hence your personal connection with the flex, turning radius, wheels, etc.

Wonderful Fall Corners

One of the most exhilarating parts of longboarding is laying into a tight corner, and feeling yourself successfully pull through it. This shot is me on our last wonderful day of riding before the snow started falling. Laying into a backside slide with the consequence of the lake on the outside. Independence Point, Coeur d’Alene ID.
